Hey y’all! I’m Valerie — wife, mom, maker, and the colorful heart behind Glitter and Grace. I live in the small but spirited town of Liberty, North Carolina, where I’m raising two incredible kids: a bright and beautiful daughter, and a sweet, funny, and brilliant son who just so happens to be autistic. I love spending time with them and my wonderful husband of 17 years, Jason.

Life in our house is a vibrant mix of glitter glue, giggles, grocery lists, and grace (so much grace!).

Why I Started Glitter and Grace

This blog is a reflection of the things I love most: crafting with heart, creating joyful spaces, and celebrating life’s messy, magical moments.

I’ve always been drawn to bold patterns, bright colors, and the kind of over-the-top party details that make people smile. Whether it’s a rainbow-themed birthday bash on a budget, a DIY wreath made with dollar store finds, or a cozy corner of my home decked out in joyful decor—I believe beauty is something we can create, not something we have to chase.

What You’ll Find on the Blog

As a full-time working autism mom, I know firsthand how important it is to find little sparks of joy in the everyday.

Glitter and Grace is more than just a blog—it’s a space for busy moms (especially fellow autism moms), teachers, creatives, and anyone who wants to add a little more magic and meaning to their lives.

I share:

  • Party planning ideas
  • Easy-to-follow DIY and craft tutorials
  • Free printables
  • Bold, colorful home decor inspiration
  • Fun fashion and style for real moms
  • Wellness and self-care tips
  • Real-life glimpses into motherhood and intentional living

My Passion

I’m deeply passionate about inclusion and education, and I’m always looking for ways to shine a light on the beauty of neurodiversity.

You’ll see that reflected in my content—whether I’m sharing sensory-friendly party ideas, self-care tips for parents, or just talking openly about the ups and downs of parenting a neurodivergent child.

Fun Facts About Me

Glitter makes everything better. Period.

I have a serious love affair with glue guns, glitter, and the dollar store craft aisle.

I can throw a Pinterest-worthy party on a tight budget—and make it look luxe.

My wardrobe is full of bold prints, bright colors, and big statement earrings.

I’m a proud autism mom and passionate about building inclusive, joyful spaces.

I believe every day is worth celebrating—even the messy ones.

Cherry Coke is basically my love language.

I love a good DIY YouTube binge and might stay up way too late watching craft hauls.

My dream day includes a quiet morning, a craft table full of supplies, and no laundry in sight.

I believe creativity is a form of self-care, and that you don’t need to be “perfect” to create something beautiful.

Let’s Celebrate Together

So grab your favorite glue gun, pour a cup of coffee (or a glass of sweet tea), and stay a while.

Let’s craft, celebrate, and lift each other up—with bold colors, big dreams, and hearts full of grace.

Welcome to the party. I’m so glad you’re here! 💖
